»The Basement

One of the country's foremost clubs for jazz, acoustic, folk, funk, blues, world and soul live music, this place was renovated and re-launched in 1992 with an adventurous regular line-up of local and international musicians. There are cabaret-style tables close to the stage or an elevated bar at the back. It has functional decor, with wood paneling and unattractive carpeting. If you are not looking for live music there is an admission-free bar and Mediterranean style bistro serving snacks and supper. Weekdays 4:30p-6:30p is happy hour so it is popular for after-work drinks. Performances are held 9:30p onwards.

»Moulin Rouge Downunder

The plush movie-theater like interiors, and the velvety, blood red drapes of the Moulin Rogue makes you wonder what they have for entertainment. This of course comes as a pleasant (or unpleasant) surprise, because instead of beautiful dancing courtesans, what this cabaret-styled venue has on offer is plenty of alternative entertainment in the form of comedy shows, live music performances, DJ nights, and other fun events. Step into this place to introduce your senses to a new dimension of sophistication and style. Moulin Rouge can accommodate a crowd of about 250 people, and is an ideal place to either attend an event, or host one. Call for event timings and additional information.
