Bookstores in the U.S. may be a rare sight in the near future, however this one in North Myrtle Beach has been going strong for decades. Upon entering the shop, you are immediately carried off to a nostalgic place with the scent of old paper and musty walls. Bookends is a clean, yet perfectly cluttered store, where readers can find a nook within the wooden aisles and peruse books on astronomy, language arts, literature, history and much, much more. »I Love Sugar

I Love Sugar takes your regular tiny candy store and enlarges it ten times. This massive 6000 sq. ft. shop has almost every type of sweet imaginable, from row canisters on the wall filled with candy to classics like Mike & Ike and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It is almost impossible to leave without indulging a least a little bit and the kids will probably want to stay all day. The decor inside is bright and filled with fluorescent colors from floor-to-ceiling and the staff is extremely friendly.

The Market Common is located on a former Air Force base and it features more than 40 different stores, both brands you know as well as those only found in Myrtle Beach. Some of the shops and restaurants include the popular PF Chang's China Bistro, Piggly Wiggly, Orvis Company, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn and more. Coastal Grand Mall is Myrtle Beach's most popular mall. Its location right near the airport is a jaunt away from the busy beaches, but nonetheless, it's the place to come if you're looking for big box stores. Some include Old Navy, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Sunglass Hut and many others. If you want to look your absolute best on the beach, this is the place to go for swimwear. The lovely people at La Plage will discreetly help you choose the swimwear that is the most flattering for you. They carry all the latest styles from the best manufacturers for women and children. Located across from the Myrtle Square Mall, it is a bit pricey, but they have incredible sales at the end of the summer.

Secondhand store lovers will go bonkers for this indoor flea market. The warehouse in which it's located is massive and there are aisles upon aisles of different products. Glass, furniture, paintings, books, gifts, electronics, the list goes on-and-on. This stall/shop is located in the Myrtle Beach Flea Market and is sometimes hard to find amongst the myriad shops and vendors. When you do find it, you'll know it by all the pet accessories and items strewn about the shop. They sell all types of animals, from rabbits to snakes and most of the prices on pet food and gear are quite inexpensive. If you can't find something specific for your pet, ask the friendly sales associates for help, they might have it hidden somewhere.

»Tiki Jim's Broadway at the Beach

Upon entering Tiki Jim's, it appears that all he sells is garishly fluorescent and bright t-shirts, but with further inspection, you'll see t-shirts of all types. Aside from the souvenir Myrtle Beach sweaters and tees, a lot of the collection is dedicated to humorous and locally designed shirts. Ridemakerz is a DIY store for the little ones, where they can make their own car, truck or any other contraption on four wheels. To begin, kids start by choosing a chassis of the model they like, then you add different parts to the car. Some of the chassis choices can be transformed into 'Monster Truck' status and girls shouldn't worry either, because they have all kinds of designs. The cars are 1:18 scale models and you can take them home when you're finished building them.
