A 54-acre lake filled with bream, bass, and catfish is the focal point of this 835 acre park that borders the Little Pee Dee, a blackwater river, and features a 50 site, full service campground, nature trails, picnic areas, and rental boats.
The home of J.W. Dillon, founder of Dillon County, and his family, this beautiful Victorian house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features numerous family and period pieces throughout the house. Five bedrooms are on the second floor of the house and an office, parlor, siting room, dining room, and attached kitchen are on the first floor.
Spreading over a 24.9 acres (10.1 hectares) of land, the Florence National Cemetery in Florence, was declared a National Cemetery in 1865. Over 8000 burials include Civil War remains as well. It provides burial space to accommodate casketed and cremated remains. Visiting hours are during daylight. After World War II, a memorial program was initiated and the cemetery received a carillon by the American Veterans.
