The Gibson Café and Guitar Gallery is a wonderful cafe located in the city of Nashville. The cafe is one-of-a-kind that features rare and famous Gibson guitars used by guitar legends. The cafe is smoke-free and has a family friendly environment. The most famous guitar, here, is the Anniversary Les Paul that has 67 diamonds used in it and 24 carat gold accents. You get a variety of interesting drinks and coffees here, including alcoholic beverages. You can also get yourself some interesting Gibson merchandise.
The most authentic blues bar this side of Chicago is located in the 3rd Avenue office complex and strip mall. Wednesday night's feature house band, The Wooten Brothers, comprised of the insanely talented Victor Wooten (of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and his two brothers. The live music has another added benefit. Lines at the bar are very short, as everyone is near the stage listening to the tunes! Food is typical bar fare but still quite good. The burgers are excellent.
Formerly known as Blue Sky Court, The Rutledge is a live music venue with a bar. The bar area is separate from the performance area so that those enjoying the music won't be disturbed by those chatting at the bar. The drinks served at this popular downtown nightclub are stiff and budget friendly. Some of the best local DJ's spin their beats here along with internationally well-known tastemakers. Be advised, this locale can be hard to spot thanks to the nondescript brick warehouse exterior.
Java heaven is the best way to describe this understated espresso shop called Sam And Zoe's. Inside the old house off Branford Avenue you will find wonderful coffees, bagels, smoothies, sandwiches and pastries. Poetry readings on Wednesday nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays create a 1960s feel. Most performers are little-known local talent, but there are surprises on the small stage from time to time. This is Nashville, after all.
Unlike many downtown music venues, Windows On The Cumberland has character and atmosphere. Tall windows line the wood-paneled walls and actually do overlook the Cumberland River. The narrow room features a small stage and a small balcony. The tables are normally pushed to the walls to make room for dancing, and there's plenty of reason to dance. A local band kicks off the show every night at five with an "unplugged" set, followed by the nightly headliner. Saturday night is old-time country night and Sundays feature the sounds of the islands with reggae bands. Come in and enjoy a brew, listen to some tunes and dance the night away. No cover charge.

The Stage on Broadway is one of the biggest hits in Downtown Nashville. This authentic country western club rocks all week long, so expect to see a crowd and line every night, but it is worth the wait. The vibe is fun and celebrity sightings are a common occurrence. Full Moon Saloon is a great nightclub which sees thrilling live performances by talented bands. The place attracts an eclectic mix of crowd but they all get along quite well here. Along with the music, their drinks too will steal your heart; the cocktails served here are to die for.
