DuQuoin Southern Illinois Center is a popular race track that features several karts and tracks. The center is part of the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds and has been around in the circuit since 2005. It earlier functioned as a 1/8 mile oval and was further increased to a 1/6 mile oval. The place is a major venue for many sporting events like car races, automobile shows and so on. It also offers services like welding, fabrication and so on.
Acres of trees, campgrounds and lakes, harness racing track and more makes Du Quoin State Fairgrounds a great place to visit. Home to the Du Quoin State Fair, the fairgrounds are open year round and offer a beautiful setting for a great time outdoors. The DuQuoin State Fair has its own campground with over 1000 hookups with water and electric, conveniently located at the north side.
The Swamp is a charming, local entertainment space, located on Monroe Street of Carbondale, IL. The intimate performance venue is often sought for private events, parties and such. Apart from that, The Swamp is known for the diverse range of cultural programs, performances and concerts it hosts. Located at the School of Music at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, the OBF Recital Hall is where the students perform, practice and show off their musical talent honed by the SIUC School of Music. Previously known as the McAndrew Stadium, Saluki Stadium is a state-of-the-art football stadium and a home ground for the Saluki Football team for more than 70 years. The original stadium was constructed in the year 1938 and was considered to be the most attractive stadium in town. The re-construction of the stadium in the year 2010 has increased the seating capacity of the stadium upto 15,000, and is equipped with a press box and team locker and changing rooms.
