    Palazzo di Giustizia

    Piazza Cavour
    Rome, 00193
    +39 06 6 8831
This colossal building which is also the seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation, one of the principal courts of Italy sits on the western side of Tiber at Piazza Cavour. Built in the late nineteenth century by Guglielmo Calderini, it is a magnificent example of Renaissance and Neoclassicism architecture. Tourists who arrive to see this monument marvel at its grandeur and the fact that this beautiful building is not carved out of marble, which is common for most Roman palaces but limestone. And if you are visiting for the first time then just ask any local for the Palazzaccio or "Ugly Palace".
