With the onset of winter, when the slopes of Edelweiss Valley are covered with snow, it transforms into a wonderful winter holiday destination. Edelweiss ski resort features 18 trails, most of which cater to amateurs and intermediate level skiers. Three difficult and one extremely difficult trail, offers expert skiers a challenging course. Four lifts are available to carry you up the slopes. Edelweiss boasts of one of the biggest snow tubing parks in the region, making it popular amongst visitors to the place.
Originally Laflèche Cave, Aventure Laflèche is North America's largest aerial park and boasts all kinds of attractions. Parc Omega is a 12 kilometre safari park with a huge variety of wildlife including raccoons, wolves, moose, bears and lots more. The summer will offer a great view of bird. Along the route you will witness the panoramic views of the lake, valleys, rocky hills and forests. The park also features playgrounds, three walking trails, a restaurant and fun picnic areas. Founded in 1941, Vorlage is located in the village of Wakefield. This family ski region makes the experience for the entire worthwhile. Offering 17 runs, 13 of them also feature night skiing. If you have a taste for adventure, Great Canadian Bungee is the place to visit. Located 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, you'll find all the adrenalin you can handle in one day. Attractions include the highest commercial bungee jump in North America at 50 meters (200 feet), and the Ripride - a 300-meter (1015-foot) cable slide. Built in 1971, Mont Cascades is one of the most sought after entertainment venues in Cantley. A large space, this area now also includes a golf course and a huge water park. Located on north side, Lac Phillipe is medium sized lake close to Gatineau Park. This lake is safe to take a dip in, and is guarded by lifeguards. Approximately a 50-minute drive away from Ottawa, this place is ideal for camping, kayoing, paddle-boats, canoeing and lots more. Enjoy a fun time with family in this great picnic spot.
Located within the Gatineau Park, Meech Lake is one of the most sought after places in the area. Named after a local settler, Reverend Asa Meech, this lake is located very close to the Meech Creek. There are a number of residents along the river and many upcoming properties too. Tourists visiting the five beaches around the area, love to take a dip in the Meech Lake waters.
A recreation park located in Mansfield, Quebec, the Coulonge Chutes is known for its Grand Chutes waterfalls. Spanning 42 meters (138 feet), the cascades make for beautiful scenery. Recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, zip lining and climbing promote the area as an eco-tourism spot. The park also has a historical exhibit area where one can learn about the history of timber sawing in the region.
Lac Beauchamp Park is a large park that surrounds a small lake. Comprising of 172 hectares, this huge wooded park offers snowshoe trails as well as ski areas of about 15 kilometres. This area is also visited by bikers, hikers as well as for swimming. Along with a number of recreational activities, this park also hosts the annual sand sculpture competition.
