Lil Boosie, born Terrence Hatch, is a hip hop artist from Louisiana, active since 2000. His rap lyrics tell stories of the drugs, violence, and prejudice he grew up with. While Lil Boosie has found success in the hip hop genre, he was sentenced to jail for drug possession in 2008, had his sentence doubled after violating probation and recently has faced murder charges. Lil Boosie has pled innocent to the murder charges and while in jail has continued to "move forward with his rap career."

Blind Boys of Alabama is a gospel group from Alabama comprised of three vocalists and a percussionist - all blind. The group formed at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in 1939, with huge mainstream success not being realized until over half a century later. With numerous Grammy Awards and an induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Blind Boys of Alabama continue to influence the course of gospel music into the 21st century.

First thing that might be able to tell you the nature of this Christian soft rock group: all four permanent members of the band consider their work with music to be a part time activity, scheduling it around their full-time work--mentoring teenagers at their church in McDonough, Georgia. This bit of info is useful in understanding what type of band Casting Crowns is and how much their God means to them. The band made a splash in the Christian music scene after releasing a string of well received albums throughout the 2000s and playing contemporary worship services on Sunday mornings at their church in Georgia.

The Revivalists is a band from New Orleans that specializes in creating a style of music that blends several genres that are quintessential parts of The Big Easy's heritage. Formed in 2007, the group gigged around the many bars and music venues in New Orleans for a couple of years--refining its sound and honing its musical approach--before entering the studio to record its 2010 debut album, Vital Signs.The LP's intelligent combination of Crescent City jazz, progressive blues and rock helped establish the band as one of the more interesting New Orleans-based bands of its generation.
