Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a National Historic Landmark, this excavated site is a partially reconstructed Fort Ancient period Native American village along the Great Miami River. Those who lived in this area were the first intensive farmers and the last prehistoric group to occupy it prior to the arrival of European settlers. Experimental archaeological research and an interpretive center are on-site.

The Oregon Historic District is a neighboring area of Dayton. The district has buildings which date back to 1820 and are still maintained well. The area has a mix of architectural styles, while the most prominent being the Federal, Queen Anne and Greek Revival styles. This thriving district has a lot of commercial area which includes coffee shops, restaurants and pubs.
When driving down West 4th in Dayton, it is impossible to miss the opulence of this corner-street structure. Built in 1888 by local architect Charles Insco Williams, the Sacred Heart Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places a century later. Marvel at its stained-glass windows and majestic dome that illustrate an architectural blend of Romanesque and Queen Anne styles.
Commonly called the Old Courthouse, this limestone structure is one of the greatest existing examples of fine architecture based on the Greek Revival style. It is the headquarters of the Dayton Historical Society and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Consisting of a wide range of attractions including museums, sport venues, parks and fine dinning, the Montgomery County has amazing places to visit and a lot to offer.
The St. Mary Catholic Church is a historic church located in Dayton, Ohio. The church building was constructed in 1906 in the Romanesque style of architecture, featuring gable roofs, a pair of turrets, a number of rose windows and three identical doorways. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

With over 200 contributing structures, the Dayton View Historic District is one of the important historical districts of Dayton. A stroll through this district will give you an insight into the different designing styles like Chateauesque, Queen Anne and so forth.

Bull's Run Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum is a place to hike trails, pursue nature photography, meditate, birdwatch or attend an educational program. The 11.4 acre park is open daily from dawn to dusk providing an oasis from the bustling city which surrounds it.
