The University of Arkansas is a public research university based out of Fayetteville, Arkansas that was founded in 1871. The Razorbacks are the sports teams that compete for the school in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference. Originally called the Cardinals, the student/teacher body voted to change the sports teams name to the Razorbacks in 1910. Though the university's athletic department hosts a number of varied teams, it is probably best known for its football, basketball and baseball teams.

The Jackson State Tigers represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. A member of the NCAA's Division I, the university competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and the Football Championship Subdivision. Jackson State sponsors a number of men's and women's athletic programs, such as baseball, football, basketball, softball and soccer, and has produced several sports stars over the years, including Hall of Fame NFL running back, Walter Payton.

The Town Creek Arts Festival features a large number of artists and craftsmen from around the US displaying their works. Food vendors from the downtown area will be showcasing their favorite dishes, and local musicians will perform throughout the day and into the evening. The festival also provides activities for children and around the museum and art garden.

Keb’ Mo’ (born October 3, 1951 in South Los Angeles, California as Kevin Moore) is an American blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Mo has won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album 3 times, solidifying him as one of America's greatest living blues practitioners. He is also an important figure in documenting blues history as an actor and speaker, playing legendary guitarist Robert Johnson in the documentary Can't You Hear the Wind Howl?.
