March 05, 2015 8:00 PM

Known equally for his film scores, solo albums and collaborations with members from The Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie and My Morning Jacket, Jay Farrar (formerly of bands Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt) is respected amongst both musicians and fans. With a distinct vocal style and instrumental arrangements that range from the sparseness of Neil Young to the noisy rock and roll of Dinosaur Junior, Jay Farrar has garnered a good deal of acclaim for his range and his unique guitar tunings.

Jeff Austin is a mandolinist and singer/songwriter from Elk Grove, IL who's probably best known for fronting the popular jam-grass outfit Yonder Mountain String Band. Since leaving the group in 2014, Austin has launched solo endeavors that still find the talented musician performing his characteristic style of up beat and infectious bluegrass.

»Othello

March 05, 2015 7:00 PM

Adapted for several on-stage and modern film production, Shakespeare's original tragedy Othello, the Moor of Venice, was adapted from an Italian short story that follows the character Othello, an African prince who works in Europe as a general. In Shakespeare's version, Othello is a general in the Venetian army who is persuaded into killing his wife before meeting his own tragic end. Themes of ambition, racism, jealousy and conspiracy run deep in this convoluted tale of love and desire.

»David Ford

March 05, 2015 8:00 PM

British solo artist David Ford does more than sing. This singer/songwriter who was previously a member of the indie rock group, Easyworld, would be better classified as a storyteller-performer. Ford is known for using a "looping pedal" during his performances to layer the vocals, percussion, keyboard, and guitar--it makes for an extremely climactic flow of a show. His music is soft/indie rock and uses a lot of acoustic guitar and violins, giving its music a cinematic feel to it.
