Born Yesterday is a comedy by American playwright Garson Kanin that premiered in 1946 to tremendous critical and popular acclaim, and would go on to perform at Broadway's Lyceum Theater until 1950. The story follows a corrupt business tycoon who chooses to educate his lower class mistress, only to have her learn about his evil ways in an unforeseen twist as she begins interfering with his nefarious business plans as a result. The play experienced several revivals following its long-running success on Broadway during the late 1940s, as well as a successful film adaption made during the last year of its initial Broadway run in 1950.
