    Specializing in garlic products from all over California, For Garlic Lovers first opened its doors on Cannery Row in 2004. The walls, shelves, ceiling and floor are crowded with all things garlic. Purchase garlic olives, garlic potato chips, garlic sauce or garlic jelly (no, really).     Few things can match tasting wine at the Bargetto Tasting Room whilst enjoying splendid views of the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1933, the Bargetto is famed for its dessert wines under the Chaucer's brand name. The winery also stacks the famous red and white wines along with the sparsely available sparkling ones.     Cannery Row is a fantastic waterfront street a mile down the coast from Fisherman's Wharf. The street is featured in John Steinbeck's book Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday. Cannery Row is named after old sardine canning factories, but those factories are no longer operational and instead house stores, restaurants and bars. You can easily spend days shopping and eating at wonderful restaurants. This area is also a marine sanctuary, so you'll probably see California sea lions sunning themselves. If you want to learn more or help the sea lions visit the Friends of the Sea Otter shop. And no trip to Cannery Row is complete without visiting the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.

    »Patrick's Consignment Store

    This little store sells antique furniture, paintings, home furnishings, and all sorts of decorative items on consignment from individuals and dealers. There is always something new here, and there is always a great deal to be had. It is a neat little shop and a great place to stumble into on the way to somewhere else. The proprietor even has auctions on a regular basis. Since 1988, the owner has been providing personalized service to a clientele of regulars and occasional passers-by.

    »Friends of the Sea Otter

    The cuddly, photogenic creatures that were nearly wiped out by fur traders in the 1700s and 1800s are still few in number. Friends of the Sea Otter is dedicated to educating people about the otters and expanding efforts to save them. The organization's store at Cannery Row sells jewelry, stuffed toys, posters, calendars and lots more otter-themed merchandise and apparel. The store is equally popular with animal rights activists and shoppers who just want a cute toy or a Monterey souvenir.

    For over a quarter of a century, this used record shop has been a favorite amongst locals. It has won Coast Weekly's award for "best used record shop" several times and it continues to rotate its stock on a regular basis. The easy listening selection is impressive, and the place is now actually half CDs and half records. You can even bring in your old turntable and exchange it for cash. This is a neat little shop that also sells videos and posters. Prices are very reasonable.
