Lee Fields & The Expressions w/ Roxy Roca

Part of Brooklyn's thriving soul revival scene kicked into full gear by Daptone Records, Lee Fields and the Expressions was forged by Truth & Soul record heads who wanted to create a "sweet soul" album modeled after hit bands of the 1960s. To do this, they called upon legendary funk singer from the 1970s Lee Fields and a few locally respected studio musicians who all laid down the band's first single "Do You Love Me," which immediately secured the band a prominent spot in the modern soul world. While Fields and the Expressions have often split to do duets with other celebrated acts like Sharon Jones and Naomi Shelton, the band always regroups to create pitch-perfect soul.

The five-piece post punk outfit Kaiser Chiefs was formed in 1996, under the name As Parva. After a turbulent first few years of existence, the band released its 2003 debut album, 22, failed to perform well on the charts, the group was quickly dropped from its label. As Parva changed its name to Kaiser Chiefs and with a fresh name in addition to new material, the band managed to land a recording contract with Atlantic Records. Redefining its sound to a more staunch new wave and punk-inspired sonic aesthetic, the quintet released its 2005 album, Employment, which was met with commercial and critical acclaim, launching the band to the forefront of British indie rock music.

Night Drive is an electropop duo from Texas that's comprised of Rodney Connell and Brandon Duhon. Formed in 2013, the group made a well produced style of 1980s influenced pop that harks back to glory days of dayglo, blazers with rolled up sleeves and snap bracelets.Self describing it sound as "the type of music you would hear on a car stereo if Giorgio Moroder and Ray Bradbury were driving late at night through a buzzing metropolis," Night Drive's music might capitalize a bit too much off fond memories of the past, but someone it's style is perfectly suited for today's nostalgia-driven music scene.
