Mother Falcon is an indie pop-minded classical music collective based out of Austin, Texas. Using multiple cellos and violins, acoustic bass, mandolin, horns, guitar and percussion, the group creates pop song-structured compositions that really utilize the space and characteristics of every instrument being played. This isn't a half-baked band looking to gain credibility by using a classical instrument now and then. Rather, Mother Falcon is made-up entirely of well-trained musicians capable of tastefully adding to the band's songs with a sense of professional grace and restraint. Modern indie music is also a heavy influence on Mother Falcon, well evidenced in the group's use of vocals and grandiose arrangements. Fans of like-minded contemporaries such as Owen Pallet and Beirut will appreciate the band's modern twist on classical music.

David Ramirez is an experimental musician from Austin, Texas who has distinguished himself as an artist who isn't afraid to indulge in his avant-garde sensibilities. After spending time in bands like Hypnolovewheel and King Missile during the 2000s, he embarked on a solo career in 2009 with his folk-leaning debut LP, American Soil. Though an adept multi-instrumentalist, Ramirez primarily plays the guitar and drums during live performances.
Dallas, Texas duo The O's might not have a particularly attention-grabbing name, but its music has made up for that, landing on television stations, like MTV and the History Channel, and winning over fans across the country. With its neotraditional blend of bluegrass, honky tonk, Texas country and indie folk, The O's has managed to create a diverse enough sound to attract a wide range of listeners, including Grammy-Award winning producer Stuart Sike, who produced the duo's sophomore release.
Toadies is an alternative rock band that emerged out of Forth Worth, Texas in 1989 as pioneers of the local grunge scene. With the release of its debut album, Rubberneck, with Interscope Records in 1994, the group rose to recognition for its fusion of alternative and hard rock and subsequently embarked on an extensive tour throughout the US. Despite Toadies early success and a solid following, an uninspired sophomore record and grueling show schedule caused the band to break up by 2001. After playing a reunion show in 2006, Toadies dropped its third LP, No Deliverance, in 2008 and has since continued to record and release new material.
