This center for design constitutes a unique space where artists and design professionals in Malmö can develop their work. There are also public exhibitions on modern art, sculpture, fashion, architecture and other aspects of the practice and history of graphic arts.
Technically known as the Förening Scen & Manegemuseum (union of scene and theatrical technicians museum), this museum is devoted to the history and practice of the theatrical arts, especially as practiced in southern Sweden. The exhibitions are varied and many objects on display are quite old, but everything is sure to please theater fans and those curious to see the secrets behind the magic tricks of the stage.

This gallery in the eastern part of the central city is known as one of the top places to see avant-garde art in Malmö. The pieces and artists on display here are mostly Scandinavian but some come from other parts of the world. Kommendanthuset is located opposite the Malmöhus Castle and is also a part of the Malmö Museum. On the second floor you will find the fotografins rum (the photography room) where several photography exhibitions, seminars and workshops are held every year, by both international and national artists. Various activities for children and adolescents also take place in Kommendanthuset. Additionally, if you are in the mood to eat something healthy, head to the cafe in the same building. Simply Café only serves locally produced ecological food.
Teknikens och Sjöfartens Hus is the main science museum of southern Sweden. It places an emphasis on how science and technology have played a large role in Sweden's history as a maritime power. It has other interesting exhibits on more standard science topics such as physics and natural history. The museum is conveniently located close to other attractions in the central part of the city.
This work-space-cum-museum is situated in a modernist building in the southeastern quadrant of the city. There are several gallery spaces devoted to individual artists' work and to special exhibitions. Though these center on the staples of modern art- painting, sculpture, mobiles- there are also occasional exhibitions devoted to design in things like architecture and fashion.
