    »Govt Mule Friday

    August 22, 2014 9:00 PM

Blues and rock jammers Gov't Mule have been playing their soulful extended blues since 1994. The New York based group began originally as an Allman Brothers side project of Warren Haynes and Allen Woody. When the Allman Brothers slowed in producing new material, the duo recruited Matt Abts on drums and began focusing solely on Gov't Mule. Now they are a familiar sight on the playbill of many major music festivals across the country, and are known for lots of guest performances from musical cohorts they're befriended along their journey.

»Back To School Beatles Bash With Abbey Road Live!

    August 22, 2014 9:00 PM

Tickets on sale now! Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for food and drinks. We will have reserved table seating available on the mezzanine level on a first come first serve basis. Abbey Road LIVE! is not your typical Beatle look-alike tribute act; don't expect mop-top haircuts and vintage Rickenbacker guitars. Rather, this show is about bringing to life some of the more mature and complex Beatles material in a raw & spirited fashion, while remaining true to the original recordings. Combining attention to detail with a creative exuberance, the band always delights its audiences with its diverse repertoire of hits and more obscure favorites.

    »Fences

    August 22, 2014 8:00 PM

One of America's most celebrated playwrights, August Wilson's "Fences" is often considered his greatest work. Directed by playwright Synthia Williams, New African Grove Theatre Company's production is a powerful drama that tells the story of Troy Maxson, a former Negro League baseball star who makes his living as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh, and who's consumed with frustration over the color barrier that kept him from being a success in the Major Leagues. As he struggles to provide for his family, their relationships -- infected by his bitterness -- suffer. A truly significant American play, a "New York Post" critic once hailed it as "one of the richest experiences I have ever had in the theater."

North Carolina recording artist and songwriter Jim Lauderdale is one of country and bluegrass' most influential figures. Considered a top songwriter in Nashville's rich music community, artists like The Dixie Chicks, George Jones, Lee Ann Womack, and George Strait. Given Lauderdale's work with some country's greatest singers, it's no surprise that his own music is just as special. Lauderdale is a frequent guest at some of North America's top bluegrass festivals and is often a guest at the legendary Grand Ol' Opry.
