Settled for the first time in 1834–1835 by settlers Lewis Lemon, Germanicus Kent and Thatcher Blake, the city of Rockford enjoys its location upon the serene waters of the Rock River. The Church of St. Thomas the Apostle is a magnificent church built in the Gothic style of architecture. It stands firm on its grounds since 1885. The church has continued to function even since it was established. It holds regular services and other religious ceremonies. Religious education is also imparted by the church to its disciples. The graceful interiors of the church are an evidence of the era it belonged to.
The First Congregational Church located at Beloit, Wisconsin is an iconic church structure. It was constructed in 1859 and occupies less than an acre of land. Sunday worship session begins by 10:30a, and specialized nursery care can be availed for children up to three years of age. Wednesday evenings, between 6:00p and 7:30p are dedicated for Bible study. The structure follows Romanesque and Greek Revival styles of architecture, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Telfer Park is a convention center, a skate park and a sports facility all rolled into one. The park sees quite a number of public gatherings and events. Entry into the park and the use of skating facilities is free for the public.
