Formerly known as the Cumberland National Forest, the Daniel Boone National Forest is a forest nestled in the State of Kentucky. Set against the scenic Appalachian Mountains and a part of the Cumberland Plateau, it has ravines and cliffs. Here, visitors can indulge in several activities like camping, fishing, hunting and so forth.

Cumberland Gap National Historical Park was established on June 11, 1940. It was established to preserve the natural and historic beauty of this place. The park lies in parts of Bell and Harlan counties in Kentucky and covers 20,508 acres (8299 hectares) of land. It is open throughout the year except on Christmas, and has a bookstore and gift shops as well.
