The Harlan Sanders Cafe is the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. This historic site is Colonel Sanders first cafe, and the place where the secret recipe of KFC was discovered. In 1990, the cafe was renovated to serves a museum. The visitors can take tour of Harland Sanders office, explore the kitchen where Sanders formulated the KFC recipe and many KFC memorabilia. On 7th August 1990, this site marked in the National Register of Historic Places.
Formerly known as the Cumberland National Forest, the Daniel Boone National Forest is a forest nestled in the State of Kentucky. Set against the scenic Appalachian Mountains and a part of the Cumberland Plateau, it has ravines and cliffs. Here, visitors can indulge in several activities like camping, fishing, hunting and so forth.
