Gallatin National Forest is located in several counties across the state of Montana. It is named after Albert Gallatin and is spread over 1,819,515 acres (736,332 hectares). There are six mountain ranges within the forest namely Gallatin, Madison, Bridger, Crazy, Absaroka, and Beartooth. It features on the National Register of Historic Places.
