Made Up Theatre presents a variety of improv comedy shows, including games, plays, musicals and sketch comedy. For the past three years, this audience favorite has won the title of Best Comedy Theater in the "Fremont Bulletin"'s Readers' Choice Awards. The theater offers two different types of improv shows: "Laugh Track City" is similar to "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" The players perform fast-paced, short-form improv games based on audience participation. "Five Play" explores the funny side of relationships through sketches and off-the-cuff scenes and stories.

»Three Sisters

February 28, 2015 2:00 PM

Douglas Morrisson Theatre presents "Three Sisters", a humorous and affecting masterwork from Anton Chekhov ("The Seagull, Uncle Vanya") that centers around the once-privileged members of the Prozorov family. After the death of their army general father, the three sisters that give this play its title -- matriarchal Olga, witty Masha and young Irina -- begin to feel constrained by the smallness of life in their tiny provincial Russian town. Attempts to improve their crumbling social status lay bare the larger forces of unrest that will soon engulf the entire area. Melodrama turned inside out, this vivid new version of "Three Sisters" -- as reinterpreted by playwright-actor Tracy Letts -- is a story of yearning and ordinary life, where little appears to be happening ... but everything is revealed.
