Skurugata is a ravine comprising mainly of rocks. It stretches to 800 meters (2624.67 feet) in length and has a maximum recorded depth of 35 meters (114.8 feet) . The rock composition in the ravine is mainly of porphyritic rock which has rich contents of quartz and red feldspar. The ravine is a declared natural reserve and is open for hiking.
Overlooking the Eskjo municipality is Skuruhatt hill, a popular hiking spot among tourists and locals alike. The climb may be long and tiring but the views from the top make up for it with the stunning scenery. A castle full of activity, Sparreholm is an ideal weekend getaway visit for the family with its charming lakeside setting, rich history, interesting museums and even an equestrian center! It is a popular attraction in the summer when the horse training center sees many visitors in dressage for training alongside many well known equestrians. The equine center is available for rent and horse shows are put on here as well. An automobile museum with vintage cars on display is located here, along with a jukebox, bicycle, telephone and trolley museum. The castle and its rooms are leased out on rent for private functions such as weddings, parties and conferences.
