Situated approximately 100 kilometres from the city, Arabuko-Sokoke is the only coastal forest of its kind left remaining in Kenya. Unfortunately, some of the forest has been cut down for timber but there is still a huge area to explore - over 400 square kilometres, in fact. There are a number of interesting trails for visitors to either walk, jog or drive through. As you make your way through the trees, look out for elephant shrews, bushbabies, baboons and hippos.
