The hotel is under renovation which was occurring even at night while people are trying to sleep!! There was banging and things being rolled around all night long. The room itself had it's own issues...scrapes on the wall, material coming off furniture, lightbulb out in the bathroom, visible dust under the TV. It was by far the WORST experience we've ever had at a Choice hotel.

Positive first. The staff were very nice. Construction dust not a big deal except that someone was laying hardwood flooring at 11pm at night. Called the front desk. Hammering and noise stopped until midnight. Then we could hear things being drug around, a little more hammering, and heavy footsteps. Unfortunately our room was not very clean. Extremely dusty and construction dirt on the floor and furniture. Toilet was not clean and there was urine on the seat. Fortunately the bedding and beds were clean or we would have left. Probably should have anyways because we only slept from 2am to about 7am because the construction noise started again. Asked to speak to the manager at check out but she was in a meeting. It was a big deal to us because we had just driven for over 8 hours and had a long drive the next day as well.

The gentleman who is working the front desk was very polite and welcoming. The entranceway and reception area was clean, organized and welcoming. The only issue I have was once I got into my very spacious and clean room was that I could not get the air conditioning down to a comfortable temperature that would stay consistent throughout the night, the sheets were 6040 polyester blend that were not comfortable to sleep on, the pillows were a little older with clumps of fiberfill, the toilet paper was not dissimilar to parade crate paper and the shower whilst it had wonderful water pressure did not offer a hairdryer. All in all the hotel was nice and I know that it will leave being a choice member hotel to becoming an IHG hotel and maybe some of these small $30 a month cost increased will disappear. However, for close to $150 per night I did not get a comfortable sleep. It was a large, spacious, clean, no smoking, no major stains, very nice free breakfast and working Wi-Fi hotel room that I am grateful for. So I do not want it to come across that they are not a good hotel so I'm going to adjust my score back up to a seven
