»George C. Marshall Research Library

The George C. Marshall Research Library, along with a museum was inaugurated in 1964 to form the base of the George C. Marshall Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to preserve the historic evidences of the great statesman's life and educate people about his role in shaping the 20th-century United States. The library comprises an archive collection of more than 20,000 manuscripts and documents that depict the history of United States from 1900 to 1960. Here, you can also find hundreds of maps used during both the world wars as well as oral records of interviews of the statesman's associates. The poster collection from countries such as Germany, Russia, Poland, France, United Kingdom and other countries that participated in the wars are also displayed inside the library. »Stonewall Jackson House

If you are interested in Philosophy there is little chance that you would want to miss a tour of the great Thomas Jonathan Jackson's house. This famous thinker lived in Lexington between 1851 and 1861. This is where he wrote down his ideas and thoughts before he moved out for war, never to return. However, after his body was buried in the old town church, his residence was opened up for tours and visits. Since then the house has his ardent followers coming in for tours and to pay their respects. You can take a guided tour of the place that lasts about one and a half hour. Made entirely of foam, Foamhenge is a full-size replica of the original Stonehenge in England. Mark Cline of Enchanted Castle Studios is its creator, and has made these structures out of Styrofoam. He admits going to great lengths to place these structures exactly at their right positions, to ensure that they are astronomically correct. The megalith structures are fixed into a hole at the ground, and attached with cement. Sitting on Natural Bridge, these 16 foot (5 meters) structures stand as proud copies of the original.
