The Jayhawks represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. As a member of the NCAA's Division I, the university competes in the Big 12 Conference. Kansas is probably best known for its men's basketball program which has won multiple national titles, including a victory over Memphis in the 2008 NCAA Tournament final. The university also supports a wide range of other men's and women's programs in sports such as baseball, football, golf, cross country, tennis, soccer, softball and volleyball. Notable Kansas alumni include Wilt Chamberlain (NBA), Paul Pierce (NBA) and Gale Sayers (NFL).

Across America, numerous communities are joining together over Raising of America screenings to understand and foster informed discussion on the importance of early childhood and how early investments generate large returns.This screening also features three panelists to provide perspectives from the health, business, and policy sectors. These include:Dr. Dennis Cooley, a highly experienced pediatrician from the Topeka area with over 30 years of practice in the field. Dr. John Vandewalle, the CEO of Lumen Touch and a member of the Board of Directors for the Alliance for Childhood Education (ACE), both of which serve to create and improve educational opportunities for children. Houndmouth is an indie band from New Albany, Indiana, that creates an accessible fusion of folk and rock elements. Though the band started out in 2011 as the project of Katie Toupin and Matt Myers, the duo quickly evolved into a four-piece outfit and released its eponymous debut EP in 2012. With an infectious sound powered by dual female-male vocals and buoyant, half-time beats, Houndmouth dropped its debut full-length album,From the Hills Below the City, in 2013.

Formed in 2006, the six-piece band is noted for its love of producing concept albums revolving around a single theme, as well as its complex, triple-guitar assault. Singer Phil Bozeman's deep, gut-wrenching howl is the music's sonic anchor, providing Whitechapel both its sonic and emotional center.
