Brickendon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the Australian Convict Sites. This estate was founded in 1824 by William Archer and consists of 465 hectares (1150 acres) of land. It is run by the same family and is into its 6th generation. It gives a glimpse into the convict history of the nation. Built by convicts, it features 20 historic structures, a farm and a beautiful garden. Check out the timber barns, chapel, homestead cottage, granaries, poultry house, chapel and other cottages. You can also choose to stay in some of the cottages. The Convict Interpretation Centre will give you a more in depth understanding of its history.
