    The Gibson Café and Guitar Gallery is a wonderful cafe located in the city of Nashville. The cafe is one-of-a-kind that features rare and famous Gibson guitars used by guitar legends. The cafe is smoke-free and has a family friendly environment. The most famous guitar, here, is the Anniversary Les Paul that has 67 diamonds used in it and 24 carat gold accents. You get a variety of interesting drinks and coffees here, including alcoholic beverages. You can also get yourself some interesting Gibson merchandise.

Inside the old house off Branford Avenue you will find wonderful coffees, bagels, smoothies, sandwiches and pastries. Poetry readings on Wednesday nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays create a 1960s feel. Most performers are little-known local talent, but there are surprises on the small stage from time to time. This is Nashville, after all.

    Come hear some of the best unsigned artists in the field of country music. One listen and you'll know you're in the presence of greatness. Each night includes several acts featuring original tunes, as well as a few covers of your favorite artists. Headliners come on at 9 pm. The music is clearly country, although some of the opening acts have been known to toss in some blues and rock-a-billy music.

    The most authentic blues bar this side of Chicago is located in the 3rd Avenue office complex and strip mall. Wednesday night's feature house band, The Wooten Brothers, comprised of the insanely talented Victor Wooten (of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and his two brothers. The live music has another added benefit. Lines at the bar are very short, as everyone is near the stage listening to the tunes! Food is typical bar fare but still quite good. The burgers are excellent.

    »The Rutledge

    Formerly known as Blue Sky Court, The Rutledge is a live music venue with a bar. The bar area is separate from the performance area so that those enjoying the music won't be disturbed by those chatting at the bar. With a seating capacity of 250, this also makes for an ideal venue for private events and functions. Smoking is permitted only on the patio outside. Check the website for further details on events.

    »The Mercy Lounge

    Located in the historic Cannery building, Mercy Lounge has an interesting past. It began its journey in 1863 as a flour mill and later became a coffee grinding shop. In 1957, the Dale Company took over the building and manufactured processed food items, such as jams, peanut butter and jelly. In the early 1970s, a restaurant and theater sprang up in the building. Famous artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Iggy Pop, Lenny Kravitz and Robin Trouer have performed at this venue. The lounge has a seating capacity of 500 and an adjacent room that has pool tables and pinball machines. The Mercy Lounge opens its doors at 8 in the evening every day except Sunday.

    Cabana Restaurant is a delightful combination of pub, restaurant and nightclub. Located on Belcourt Avenue near the Vanderbilt, Belmont, Hillsboro Village and the Belcourt Theatre, Cabana Restaurant is the perfect spot for a late night meal after a show, a romantic dinner or a place to meet up with friends and watch something on one of the plasma screens.     »Flamingo Lounge

    Simple decor, simple clientele and a simple mission: serve the best cheeseburgers in town and keep the beer cold. The cheeseburgers are fabulous. Each is a quarter pound of beef grilled to order, served on a grilled multi-grain bun. The beer is equally enticing. Dollar long-necks provide the perfect refreshment on hot days. Be content with domestics, though, because imports don't find their way to this bar.

    What might be overlooked by most passers-by is the greatest bluegrass club in Nashville, maybe even the world. Bluegrass musicians all over come to the Station Inn to entertain die-hard bluegrass fans every night. Special guests have included Dolly Parton, Gillian Welch and Randy Travis, and you can always count on the sounds of these singers to take you back in time to an era of pure mountain music.
