Shipley Donuts, or Shipley's as it is also called, offers more than sixty different varieties of fresh and delicious doughnuts. This small, Southern doughnut chain began in 1936 in Houston, Texas. The Hendersonville store has been serving up delicious doughnuts for as long as any of the locals can remember and way longer than the larger doughnut chains have been in town. Shipley Donuts have a little more to them than some of their national competitors, and they're not quite as sugary-sweet. If you want a tasty doughnut and you like the idea of trying what the locals love, Shipley's is the place. - Lynn-nore Chittom
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge at Nashville International Airport offers exactly what you would need during a hectic travel: great food and drinks in a friendly ambiance. The lounge is perfect to sit back and unwind while you are served a platter of comfort food along with the refreshing margaritas. The live country music playing in the background just sets the mood as you devour your meal and tap your feet to the music.
While you wait for a table, have a drink at the bar and toss peanut shells on the floor. The wait at Longhorn Steakhouse is often long, but the steaks are worth it. The chef starts with a lean cut of choice beef, rubs it with Longhorn's signature spices and grills it to perfection. The succulent filet mignon, the hearty rib eye and the ever popular t-bone are all part of the culinary repertoire. The signature entree, a huge 22-ounce porterhouse steak, is beloved by serious beef lovers. Non-beef eaters can enjoy chicken and seafood dishes.
The Perch is the perfect addition to the Brentwood restaurant scene. This cozy little breakfast spot tempts guests with the feel of an upscale big city eatery right here in Middle Tennessee. Mouthwatering menu offerings such as Belgian waffles with nutella, omelets, and pear and brie crepes bring guests coming back morning after morning. The atmosphere and service are as delightful as the tasty breakfast treats. The location is small, but the wait is never terribly long, and the food is well worth the trip. -Lynn-nore Chittom
Not only do Brentwood residents love Puffy Muffin, hungry folks from surrounding towns flock here for fresh baked breads and muffins. While breakfast is a busy time here, the lunch crowd keeps Lynda on her toes as well. Croissants filled with ham and cheese and the zesty chicken casserole are favorites. If you can't get enough of the fresh baked bread, don't worry, you can take a loaf or two home with you.
This is a bar, plain and simple. However, the crowd sets it apart. You'll never have so much fun in a bar as you will here. Some of the regulars, a right friendly bunch, have been coming here for decades, and they tell stories all night long, most of them true. Video games, pool tables and shuffleboard offer a little sporting activity. Order your favorite domestic beer as ordering an import will earn you a strange look from the bartender and sit back to enjoy the storytelling. Yuppies and college students stay east of this place, and it isn't the best place for dates or business meetings, but it's a great place for regular folks to enjoy a tall tale and a tall drink. Please check the website for timings.

Java heaven is the best way to describe this understated espresso shop called Sam And Zoe's. Inside the old house off Branford Avenue you will find wonderful coffees, bagels, smoothies, sandwiches and pastries. Poetry readings on Wednesday nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays create a 1960s feel. Most performers are little-known local talent, but there are surprises on the small stage from time to time. This is Nashville, after all.
