Formerly known simply as Ellington Field or Ellington Air Force Base, Ellington Airport today is a military as well as a civil air base. Established during World War I as a training ground for pilots it was closed and rebuilt during the Second World War. It is currently used for training purposes too. One of the best features of this base is that is has an expansive runway access, apart from other details. Also the infrastructure is flexible and the workforce dedicated. The airport plays host to the Wings Over Houston Airshow. Kindly check the website for additional details.
