    »Walk The Moon

    October 23, 2014

Cincinnati, Ohio band Walk The Moon is an indie pop band of the highest order. An unabashed aesthetic of fun with a carefree attitude, Walk The Moon have the dance-punk energy of a group like The Killers and the optimism of OK Go. It's not clear if the band's aspirations are as pop as they sound, but it seems to be wedded closely to its artsy, indie roots enough to stay away from commercialism.

Greensky Bluegrass is a bluegrass band from Kalamazoo, Michigan that was formed in 2000 as a three-piece outfit. While recording its debut album Less Than Supper in 2004, the band decided to fill its soundscape by hiring a bassist and dobro player. After the band acquired these two additional instrumentalists, it managed to anchor its jangly sound and gave its live performances depth. Greensky Bluegrass released the first volume of its live album series, All Access in 2009, followed by Volume 2 in 2010. With its refined sound, the band began to reach out to a broader audience, particularly with its fourth and most acclaimed studio album, Handguns. The effort debuted in 2011 at number three on US Bluegrass charts.
