»Bronson Park

Named after the city's founder Titus Bronson, the Bronson Park in Downtown Kalamazoo has been a great landmark since its establishment. Hugely popular with kids and adults alike, the park also plays host to various events and concerts like art fairs, New Year's Eve festivities and much more. Flanked mostly by churches and important buildings on all sides, it forms the center of what is called the Bronson Park District of the city. »Kalamazoo State Hospital Water Tower

Built in 1859, the Kalamazoo State Hospital Water Tower is situated on the grounds of Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital. The tower stands high in historic significance and was structured by B. F. Stratton from Detroit. It is 175 feet (53 meters) tall and roughly 50 feet (15 meters) wide at its widest end. Its height makes it visible from any part of the city. There have been apprehensions as to the fact that it was a cell where mental patients were treated. On the whole, the exclusive tower with its distinct construction needs a visit.

»Monument Park

Monument Park, located on Division Street, was established in 1917 in honor of C.W. Post, one of the most prominent citizens of Battle Creek. In 1997, a monument dedicated to Sojourner Truth, designed by Tina Allen was unveiled in the park. Depicting Truth at one of her speeches, this statue serves as a constant reminder of the great lady's achievements. Admission in the park is free of charge.

»Binder Park Zoo

The Binder Park Zoo was founded in 1977 near Battle Creek, Michigan. It is spread over 433 acres (175 hectares) and is one of the largest zoos in the state. It is home to numerous plants and animals which also includes a section called Wild Africa. »Second Street Bridge

The Second Street Bridge is a historic bridge across the Kalamazoo River in Allegan, Michigan. This one lane truss bridge is a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, a Michigan State Historic Site and is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Designed and constructed by Zenas King, this Whipple truss style wrought iron bridge, replaced an unsafe wooden bridge in 1886. This bridge marked the transition of the use of cast wrought iron, instead of cast iron as it was more sturdy and durable.
