    »George Washington Carver National Monument

    Spanning across 240 acres (97.12 hectares), the George Washington Carver National Monument was established in 1943. It is the first of its kind in homage to an African-American, non president personality. It is the birthplace and boyhood home of George Washington Carver, a legendary educator, humanitarian and agriculturist.
