World's Largest Buffalo

A massive sculpture of an American bison, the World's Largest Buffalo stands at a height of 26 feet (7.9 meters), and weighs a whopping 60 tons. The sculpture can be seen from Interstate 94, and is about 46 feet (14 meters) long. The statue was built by a group of art students from Jamestown College, under the instruction of designer Elmer Peterson. The statue specifically depicts a walking male bison, and is detailed in its depiction of the animal's anatomy. Standing in the opposite direction of the highway, the World's Largest Buffalo was unveiled in 1959.
