Experience a taste of Old Florida at Cross Creek Barbeque and Steakhouse, "fishcamp" style located a mile south of I-10 on the west side of Jacksonville. Here you dine on casual, family style-food and barbecue, cooked slowly and topped with plenty of spicy sauce. Try the chicken wings a million ways (beer breaded, babyback style, hot, honey mustard, Cajun, ranch), gator bites served with dipping sauce, or crispy zucchini sticks. Generous salads and soups are available, but it is the barbecue that counts: sticky, sweet babyback ribs, spare ribs, pork, chicken and beef are served with side orders of baked beans, French fries, fried okra or coleslaw. There is a full service bar and children's menu. There is also another Cross Creek Steakhouse on Jacksonville's Northside.
You will notice that Fat Kat club is the most happening place in town. This place is comfortably divided into three sections with the lounge, the DJ space and the disc. For some exquisite French cuisine coupled with an impressive wine selection, Orsay is the place to visit. Coq au vin, Maine lobster pot pie and croque madame are some of the favorites among the guests here. Dig into some of the lip-smacking desserts such as the vanilla bean crème brulee. As you can imagine, Orsay gets really crowded on weekends, so to avoid disappointment, be sure to reserve a table well in advance.
Open 7a to 3a, 7 days a week, Kickback's sets the standard for gastropubs in the Jacksonville area. If you can't find a beer you like from its selections of over 600 bottled beers and 84 beers on tap, then, quite simply, you don't like beer. Kickback's earns just as many raves for its food as it does it's beer selection, with the roast beef panini and macaroni and cheese earning particularly effusive praise. Day or night, come for a delicious meal or a tasty beverage.

A number of cocktails and virgin drinks are also available. Children two and below eat free, and there are discounts for children up to 12.
The Blue Fish Restaurant & Oyster Bar is the perfect place to catch up with friends over a delicious seafood meal. Always buzzing with large groups looking to have a great time, this restaurant has some truly delicious menu offerings for you. Appetizers like the crab bisque and seafood gumbo give you a fair idea of just how delicious your meal is going to be, and sandwiches like the fried oyster po'boy and bleu burger have you salivating. But the real heroes of the menu are entrées like the lemon caper catch, mojo grouper and horseradish crusted catch. From the raw bar, you should definitely sample the Oysters Bienville, raw oysters and Blue Fish mussels. Sunday brunch is served between 10.30a and 2.30p.

Earlier called Club 618, this vibrant venue is a city hot spot always rocking for action. The plush red lounge with huge, decorative paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, has lived up to the name and fame of Club 618; rather it's become better and more spacious. The patio serves as a dancing spot in the nightclub and live music is always playing in the background. Check out the place especially on weekends, as there are live, entertaining events happening here.
Located in the luxurious Omni Hotel Jacksonville in the heart of downtown, elegant cuisine is served all day long including breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. With an upscale, but casual ambiance, prices are moderate. There is a European bistro feeling, with rich woods and crisp linens. American and Italian dishes prevail. Pasta, seafood, chicken or steak is masterfully prepared. Filet mignon is topped with a tri-color peppercorn demi-glace, and there is a grilled catch-of-the-day. A full bar is available, along with a selection of vintage wines.

Most of the time this place is like any other restaurant and serves its Jamaican variety of dishes. On weekends, however, it turns into a rocking nightclub. Fridays and Saturdays are fun with DJs playing groovy tunes or live bands performing. Their signature dishes happen to be Jerk Chicken & Fish, that are sizzling hot and of course spicy. Moreover, you'll feel comfortable with the warm customer service and the owner coming up and chopping it up with you.
