First rising to prominence as a teen sensation in the '50s, Paul Anka has had a full career as a singer - including colaborating with Michael Jackson, Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra. Anka's once smooth croon has matured over the years but his charismatic personality still shines through and his performances are reputed to be some of the more enjoyable lounge sets to take in.

»Alien Ant Farm, Camp Element & Hedpe

April 21, 2015 7:00 PM

Fast beats and intense performances are offset by this band's penchant for goofing off - they've crashed BET Awards, a Gay Pride parade, and a Justin Timberlake performance. Fortunately, this mischievous streak is channeled into the band's music.

»Jesse Malin, The Wans

April 21, 2015 8:00 PM

Bad-boy rocker Jesse Malin is reviving the spirit of hard rocking with his embrace of leather-clad rock 'n roll rebellion of the past. At once haunting, melodic and hard-edged, Malin has been a mainstay on the New York City music scene for years, as a member of various bands, including Heart Attack and D Generation. The Queens native embarked on a solo career in 2002 with the release of his album The Fine Art of Self-Destruction, in collaboration with fellow downtown rocker Ryan Adams as producer. He went on to release five more full-length studio albums in eight years, as well as an EP and a live album. Malin's solo project has received great critical success, bringing his sound to a new generation of fans. Consistent with this success, Malin has toured all over the world to sold-out audiences, never losing the verve and fervor of his incipient days in rock 'n roll.

April 21, 2015 7:00 PM

Adapted for several on-stage and modern film production, Shakespeare's original tragedy Othello, the Moor of Venice, was adapted from an Italian short story that follows the character Othello, an African prince who works in Europe as a general. In Shakespeare's version, Othello is a general in the Venetian army who is persuaded into killing his wife before meeting his own tragic end. Themes of ambition, racism, jealousy and conspiracy run deep in this convoluted tale of love and desire.

In the decades following her debut on the scene in 1956, American singer Aretha Franklin has more than proven herself as a quintessentially iconic individual who has more than lived up to her nickname as "The Queen of Soul." With a powerful and empowered vocal approach, Franklin defined and asserted herself at a time in music when it was difficult for African American women to do so. True to her character, the booming voice never seems to relent, helping Franklin continue to impress individuals who are lucky enough to catch the diva in action.
