The Willow River State Park is a beautiful green space located just north of Hudson. The park encompasses an area of 2891 acres (1170 hectares) and was founded in 1967. The major attraction of this park is the beautiful Willow Falls. Since this park is near to Minneapolis-St. Paul and has a lot of recreational opportunities, it is one of the most visited parks in the state. So if your are looking for a place to chill with your buddies or relax with your family, then this park is a good bet. On a typical day one can expect to do activities like boating, hiking, swimming, fishing and rock climbing. The park also has 72 campgrounds where you can erect a tent and spend the night.

The Warden's House Museum is a monumental museum site that operates originally was home to the wardens of the Minnesota Territorial Prison, also known as the Minnesota State Prison. The warden's house stood stern at 602 North Main Street and was constructed long back, in 1853. It housed as many as 13 wardens from the prison then. The building is a fine example of the Italianate, Federal and the Greek Revival style of architecture. The 14 distinctive rooms specially decorated in a manner depicting the late 19th century and early 20th Century styles of architecture.
Afton State Park lies along the bluffs of the picturesque St. Croix River Valley just a short trip southeast of the Twin Cities area. Visitors will find 1,700 acres of near-primitive grasslands and dense forests. In fact, access to much of the swimming and camping area is by hiking only. High vantage points provide stunning views of the river and surrounding areas. Badgers, red fox and deer thrive in this magnificent reserve, while hawks and eagles soar above. The Visitors Center provides interpretive exhibits and necessary information about the park. Fishing is allowed from shore or canoe and the swimming beach is well maintained. There are 5 miles of horseback riding trails, 4 miles of paved trails for biking, 19 miles of well-groomed cross country skiing trails and 20 miles of well-marked hiking trails. If you enjoy downhill skiing or snowboarding, visit the nearby Afton Alps Recreation Area.

Founded in 1992, Saint Croix Vineyards has grown to become one of Minnesota's largest and best known wineries. Owners Paul Quast and Peter Hemstad invite you to stop out, try their wines, and take a stroll through the picturesque vineyards. The rustic tasting room in a restored century-old barn is open each year from mid-April to December 31st and is located just west of scenic Stillwater. You are also welcome to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it at the picnic tables overlooking a quiet pond. Their award-winning Minnesota wines range from the dark, intense, oak-aged Frontenac to the semi-sweet Vignoles, reminiscent of a fine German Riesling.
