Join the Houston Aphasia Recovery Centers on March 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at River Oaks Country Club for its fifth annual Lets Talk Luncheon.  Guest speaker and stroke survivor living with aphasia, Carl McIntyre, will share his inspirational story on facing lifes obstacles with an amazing spirit.  Heard, seen and read by millions, Michael Garfield, also known as the High-Tech Texan®, will be the luncheons emcee and Taft McWhorter, a self taught artist will create a contemporary piece in front of a live audience. This years luncheon Chair is Chaille Strake, the Luncheon Honorary Chair is Rosie Carrabba and Luncheon Honoree is HARC co-founder and Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Executive Director of the University Speech-Language Hearing Clinic at the University of Houston, Lynn M. Maher, Ph.D.   EVENTBRITE TICKET IS INVALID. PLEASE VISIT HARC WEBSITE FOR TICKET PURCHASE. Individual ticket prices range from $150 to $1,000 with tables for ten up to $25,000. In AP Computer Science, students will learn the fundamentals of computer science using the Java programming language. Java is a modern, object-oriented programming language used to create professional software. The course will explore systematic problem-solving strategies that can be applied to real world problems. The focus will be first on programming basics and then on writing full classes and the logic and structures around building them. This is the equivalent of an introductory college-level programming class and will prepare students for the May 7, 2015 AP exam. After the exam, the Android App Development will start. This is a 3 month course set for June and July. Also includes online classes, videos, and online quizzes and help.
