The Bas Elster Spa Museum is a one of its kind experience. Located in the Bad Elster region, the Spa Museum was first opened in the 19th century. It was closed following the aftermath of the Second World War. It was reopened back in the end of the 20th Century. Home to many exhibits, the museum primarily exhibits artifacts pertaining to the history of the Bas Elster and Bad Brambach spa towns. It also boasts of an impressive art collection.
Known popularly as DDM, the German Steam Locomotive Museum is located in the Neuenmarkt region of Upper Franconia. Part of the Bavaria region of Germany, the museum was inaugurated in the year 1977. Housed on the foot of Scheife Ebene ramp, the museum is part of the Ludwig South-North Railway. The locomotive shed of the museum that belongs to the Royal Bavarian State Railways dates back to the 19th Century. Check website for more information.
One of the four museums that are housed in the Plassenburg Castle, Tin Figures Museum displays a diverse range of almost 300,000 tin figures. These delicately crafted figurines depict historical and cultural scenes in the form of hundreds of dioramas. Established in the year 1929, the museum also hosts the world's largest diorama which has more than 19,385 figures that depict the 16th Century conquest of Kulmbach.
