Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge
Mo to Fr from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PMEstablished in 1974 to the San Francisco Bay ecosystem, it was called the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Since 1995 it is known as the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge in ode of its namesake congressman for his contribution to save the wetlands. This is the first of its kind in the nation and is spread across 30,000 acres (12,140.6 hectares). It is now home to countless migratory birds and endangered wildlife. Nature lovers can enjoy the distinct habitats and species here. The refuge also conducts environmental programs to raise awareness on conservation and restoration.
