»African American Military History Museum

Housed in the historic USO Club at Hattiesburg, the African American Military History Museum pays homage to the brave African American soldiers who risked it all to serve and honor their country. The museum has found its home within a building that was originally built to serve as a USO Club in 1942. The club is a rare historical specimen in that it was intended to exclusively cater to African American soldiers at the time of its establishment. The museum boasts an impressive collection of photographs, artifacts and intriguing displays that chronicle the history of African American soldiers, and their contributions to the United States Military and its various operations. Apart from serving as a museum, the structure stands today as a heartfelt tribute to the valiant soldiers to whom we owe so much.
