Mayborn Museum is found on Baylor University's campus. This history museum has interesting exhibits portraying the rich history of central Texas. You can explore some amazing archeology and paleontology objects here.
Situated along the Brazos River, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum opened its doors to the public in 1968 and has been a popular tourist destination ever since. Explore the history of the Texas Rangers - the state's oldest law enforcement company through the various exhibits and relics on display. The Hall of Fame is a memorial to all the Texas Rangers who died in the line of duty. Check out the rotating collection of 2,500 historic firearms and accessories including the one used by famous American outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde. Children will enjoy sitting on the wooden horses, putting together a rifle and other fun-filled activities such as the Scavenger Hunt. The Texas Ranger Research Center was added in 1976 and has a collection of over 300,000 items such as case files, personal data of Texas Rangers and reference books. It is mainly used by researchers. There are special programs for schools to educate the kids about the history and importance of the Texas Rangers. Get some memorabilia from the museum store such as the Texas Ranger buckles, cups, leather goods, candles, pins, puzzles and more.
The Dr Pepper Museum is a rare museum that celebrates the American soft drink culture and traces the evolution of the soft drinks industry through numerous exhibits and memorabilia. It encourages capitalism and the economics of free enterprises. Popular displays include a rustic general store, reminiscent of the 1930s grocery shops, a pick-up truck from 1924 and the sound of jingles from old soft drink advertisements. Avail their tours for the best experience and do not miss their Happy Hours with the soda fountain. Students can benefit from their Advertising and Marketing Kid Style program.
