Replacing former locations, the current Decatur County Courthouse was constructed in 1874. This courthouse is popular owing to the political campaigns that are initiated from here; Robert Kennedy has also visited the premises in 1968. Apart from that, the tree located atop the courthouse is another attraction that draws tourists here.
The Rush County Courthouse stands as a historical courthouse site in the Rushville city of the U.S. State of Indiana. The construction of the site dates back to 1896. The courthouse building is a brilliant structure and finely exemplifies the Romanesque and Richardsonian Romanesque styles of architecture. The courthouse has paved its way into the National Register of Historic Places. The office hours of the courthouse are 8:00a to 4:00p EST from Monday to Friday every week.
Set upon the historic Whitewater Canal, this city prospered from the presence of grist mills and water mills that provided employment and a sense of self-reliance among the people. Visitors are enchanted by the presence of mills, Canal Boat Horse Stables, wood aqueducts, gem mines and carriage rides. Historic Metamora offers citizens a real packed cultural calendar in terms of the Old Metamora Car Show, Memorial Day parties, Christmas Walks, Canal Days, July 4th parades and twilight firework shows.
