    Deep River Friends Meeting House and Cemetery is one of the foremost cemeteries across the Guilford County. Though the earliest marking dates back to 1803, this cemetery is deemed to be in existence much before that. The Deep River Friends Memorial Association preserves and maintains this historical burying ground.

    Celebration Station is the perfect place for a fun outing. The amusement park contains an arcade with over 100 games, bumper boats, go-karts, mini-golf, rides and batting cages. Entrance to the park is free, and prices for each activity differ. A minimum height requirement applies to some of the attractions. Rates for large groups are available, and birthday packages include a meal in the on-site restaurant.

    »Triad Park

    Triad Park, located to the west of Greensboro, spans 426 acres (172.40 hectares) of meadows and woods. Visitors can enjoy the horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, softball field and soccer fields for a small fee, or they can choose to tackle one of the many hiking trails in the park. The catch-and-release fishing pond is stocked with small fish. Reservations for picnic shelters and Woodland Hall should be made well in advance. The park is open from 7a daily, and closes at different times depending on the season.

    »Old Mill of Guilford

    The Old Mill of Guilford was built in 1767 to provide a place where the settlers could grind their grain. Though the mill has moved multiple times and gone through upgrades as technology improved, it has always been in operation and continues to grind grain today. Legend says that the mill was even used during the Revolutionary War by British troops. Visitors can purchase biscuit mixes and the like along with products like whole wheat flour in the shop.

    »Mendenhall Plantation

    An interpretive center of the "Other South," Mendenhall Plantation is a Quaker built plantation that was home to abolitionists who were involved in and supported the movement before the Civil War. A false bottomed wagon used to transport slaves during the days of the Underground Railroad is on display. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

    »Greensboro Arboretum

    The Greensboro Arboretum is more than just a beautiful park complete with wedding gazebo, a fountain, arbor and bridges, though those features in and of themselves make the grounds worth a visit. What makes the arboretum extra special is that it provides a wealth of information for landscape designers or people who simply want some ideas for their garden. The property's 17 acres (6.88 hectares) have been split into 12 plant collections, grouped together based on plant size, species, optimum growing conditions, or blossoming times. The grounds also contain a butterfly garden, exceptional rose garden, rhododendron garden, and walking trails.

    »Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden

    The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden was created by Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. in conjunction with the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. Greensboro Beautiful is a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Greensboro's natural beauty, and in 1976 created the Bicentennial Garden with that purpose in mind. Sculptures of historical interest are placed throughout the park, and the flowering trees, lush greenery, and flowing stream create an idyllic setting for a romantic or family outing. This public garden is open daily from dawn until dusk, and is available for weddings.
