As you could guess from the name, bowling is the name of the game at Strike & Co. You can reserve a lane for regular bowling, come at night for Disco Bowling (music, lights, florescent-colored pins), or take advantage of the lunch buffet Monday through Friday from 11a to 2p, which includes a round of bowling with your meal. If you're not in the mood for games, you can just come for dinner and drinks, but food isn't really the main reason to come.
Enjoy the food and atmosphere of a standard pub at Tidbloms Pub & Restaurang. Here you can try items like fish & chips, burgers and grilled beef, as well as the Caesar salad and vegetarian burger. On Fridays from 4p to 7p, try the all-you-can-eat buffet, and check out the happy hour drinks at the bar. There are regular live music performances and comedy nights. You can also put your knowledge to the test at the variety of quiz nights.
The low ceiling of this place, and its wooden tables and benches establish a beer-hall atmosphere, and perhaps also the illusion that you are outdoors when actually indoors. The menu is simple, with plenty of meat, a little fish, a little pasta and a few smaller dishes. Drinks and ice creams are always included in the children's menu. Happy Hour takes place every day between 3p and 10p, when a large draft beer is on special. Live music is played every Friday and Saturday. Ada's hardly belongs to the crème de la crème of Gothenburg's restaurant life, but offers inexpensive, good food and quick service for those undeterred by cluttered walls and a large, rowdy bar.
This is something as unbelievable as a Dutch neighborhood restaurant, located in between Ullevi and the train station. It offers traditional Dutch cuisine, deep-fried dishes, some smaller courses and pancakes in a genuinely friendly Dutch atmosphere. The actual restaurant is quite simple, the walls are cluttered with Dutch curiosities. The location of the restaurant is fairly central, near Nordstan with its shopping and just a stone's throw from Ullevi, the arena where many events take place.
Though it's called Star Bowling, don't think this place is just about throwing heavy balls down wooden lanes. For starters, this American-themed restaurant has a huge menu with foods associated with New York, California, Texas and New Mexico like Santa Cruz spareribs, the Santa Rosa sandwich and New York steak. You can also come by just for the games. Here you'll find a bowling, darts, billiards, and more! Just be aware if you want to play games, you have to be 18 years or older Monday through Thursday and 22 years or older Friday and Saturday.
The cupcake trend has made it to Sweden! At Be My Cupcake, you'll find American-style, beautifully decorated cupcakes with names like Heavenly Blue Lemon Dream, Love Cupcake, Chocolate Therapy and Tiger Cupcake to name a few. If a whole cupcake sounds too much for you, there are also mini-cupcakes available. The decor here is equally as cute, so feel free to sit and enjoy your treat.
Murveln is slang for "Journalist"; at one time this place may have been teeming with them, but it certainly is not today. The clientele are a varied bunch, most of whom come for a drink and perhaps some food. In the daytime they can be tired shoppers dropping by for an afternoon beer; in the evenings anyone will show up. This is because Murveln is in the middle of Nordstan, by daylight a large shopping mall, but at night a shelter from the cold or a shortcut to the railway station. Many come for the different casino and lottery games. Murveln offers cheap lunches, and a special of the week is available. The food is typically Swedish, while beer and spirits are the main items.

Norda Bar & Grill prides itself on being part Swedish and part American with a menu that reflects a New York sensibility. In fact, the menu is divided in half, one part sea and one part land with simple standards like halibut and cod and steak and lamb. You'll also find hybrid dishes like the tacos, which sounds simple at first, but then you realize your choice of meats are salmon, halibut or smoked chicken. Though located in the Clarion Hotel Post, the Norda Bar & Grill prides itself on serving creative dishes, setting itself a part from other hotel restaurants.

Located in the Kronhuset, Gothenburg's oldest building, is Café Kronhuset. Stop in here for a bite during your trip back in time! At the cafe, you'll find traditional Swedish snacks like Cardamom cake and Smörrebröd, open face sandwiches made with egg, shrimp, salmon or roast beef.
