Unlike any bowling alley or bar you've been to before, Inter Bowling Majorna is the place for "disco bowling," which is basically bowling with booze, music and lots of colors. Don't be turned off by the bowling aspect: there is a full bar so coming here is just a unique night out. This is also a great place for parties and there are a variety of packages you can choose from.
Showdown is located on the rooftop of Henriksberg. This club is known for hosting stage performances by popular artists and local bands. Saturday special includes rock 'n' roll and pop 'n' punk. Ardent fans of Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, Ramones, Babyshambles and New Bomb Turks would love this club, for it entertains the guests with this genre of music. If you are looking forward to relax with friends and enjoy some great music, this is a place to be.
Nefertiti Jazz Club might very well be the most interesting club in Gothenburg. Live jazz, blues, rock and techno being the common genres afloat here, the club scene is one of the most popular in town. Many of the concerts held include overseas acts by international jazz stars and others. For tickets and information, check the website. Food is also served.
The reason for the ever growing popularity of The Eye is obvious; it is the wide genres of music played here. Rock, Jazz, House and Electronica all get a wide audience at The Eye. The club's location inside the already famous Nefertiti Jazz Club makes it even more popular. Call them or visit the website to check out what's on the concert menu. Tickets can also be bought online.
Sticky Fingers came into the music scene in 1998, and since then they have been rocking the city of Gothenburg. Music running through its blood, Sticky Fingers has some of the best bands performing here. Although primarily a rock themed venue, they also host everything from indie, metal, soul, funk, hip-hop to R&B. Plenty of live events are held here, and this is an excellent venue space with good sound, light and stage quality. Check website for updated events and timings which are different for the two different floors of the club.
Patrons wear black and have long, loud discussions. Tuesdays are reggae nights, on Wednesdays local celebrities act as DJs. On weekends it tends to get loud here but the atmosphere is merry, not aggressive. The restaurant is the savior of many a poor student as it is possible to order large entrees at reasonable prices. The bouncers are some of the nicest in the city.
The low ceiling of this place, and its wooden tables and benches establish a beer-hall atmosphere, and perhaps also the illusion that you are outdoors when actually indoors. The menu is simple, with plenty of meat, a little fish, a little pasta and a few smaller dishes. Drinks and ice creams are always included in the children's menu. Happy Hour takes place every day between 3p and 10p, when a large draft beer is on special. Live music is played every Friday and Saturday. Ada's hardly belongs to the crème de la crème of Gothenburg's restaurant life, but offers inexpensive, good food and quick service for those undeterred by cluttered walls and a large, rowdy bar.
Jazzhuset is situated in Vasastaden. Jazzhuset offers live music almost every day of the week. Thursdays host Club Gump with a more youthful pop/rock clientele, but otherwise they cater to a more mature audience. On Fridays and Saturdays they attract a crowd with varied taste of genre (jazz, blues, rhythm & blues, rock).
This friendly gay bar and nightclub is one of the oldest and largest in Gothenburg, so it's known for its fun crowds and amazing parties. With two dance floors, the DJs spin a mix of 70s and 80s music on one floor and contemporary jams on the other. Occasionally, live acts perform on the stage. All are welcome, so come out for a night of dancing!
Gretas Bar & Kök is a superb weekend option for the fun seeking and the adventurous. There seem to be plenty of the fun loving crowd here and the place tends to get pretty crowded, which is generally a really good sign of popularity. With two dance floors and two full bars and the regular pub fare one is really spoiled for choice. Meet plenty of interesting people or just hang out here with a group of friends and have a great night out on the town. Plenty of events, parties and gigs, keep the entertainment quotient soaring. Make sure you have reservations for your favorite table on weekends.
Bee Bar has friendly and reasonably fast service. You can enjoy a nice time with your friends while trying one of their drinks. Bee Bar is predominantly a lesbian, gay, transgender hangout, but they are very "straight friendly" as well. In addition to their extensive drink menu, they have a surprising large food menu with full appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Located in the Market Hall is Bee Kök & Bar, part restaurant, part nightclub. Here you'll find classic and comforting meals for lunch and dinner like the shrimp sandwich, Caesar salad and burger. On Fridays and Saturdays at 10p the restaurant turns into a nightclub with bumping music and great drinks flowing all night. Just be aware that the club is for people 20 years old and over.
