A community park located in the north of the city, the Deer Valley Park is a favorite recreational spot among locals. Among the facilities available at this park are lighted tennis courts, a playground, walking trails, softball fields, and picnic tables. Presently, this facility is the second largest in the Maricopa district, with more than 19,000 students utilizing its services each semester. Educational offerings include associate degree programs, occupational certificates and transferable credits. Phoenix First Assembly is a large megachurch which can hold seat almost 4,000 people for its Sunday services. This impressive church has a large sanctuary that's similar to a stadium, including two balconies. However, the church does has smaller groups to allow its congregation to still have an intimate religious experience.
This church, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1950, is an impressive building that was primarily constructed from stone. Built during 1971-1977, after Wright's death, this structure is a remarkable example of texture and materials — a trademark of Mr. Wright. The church has a double triangle shape and the 77 foot (23.5 meters) tall spire looks like a triangle from any angle. Step inside the lobby you'll find the cornerstone with Wright's signature to prove this building was a Frank Lloyd Wright design.
