Started in 1986, Snickerz Comedy Bar is one of the America's longest running comedy clubs. Snickerz brings the same acts that you will see in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. The club has presented performances form Tommy Chong, Tim Allen, Steve Harvey, Drew Carey, Lisa Lampanelli, Lewis Black and many other big names in comedy. So come in for a great evening of entertainment.
This entertainment center is located in Fort Wayne, which is just a short drive from Chicago. It has five clubs under its roof and the main room hosts as many as 65 national concerts every year. The state-of-the-art technology distinguishes the place from others of its kind. Computerized lighting and a 3,000 watt sound system are some of the highlights. The establishment also features a large dance floor, where bands perform acts that are projected on a big TV screen. Past performers include Willie Nelson, Creed, Godsmack and REO Speedwagon. Refreshments are available on-site. An ATM machine near the entrance will help you load up your wallet, but don't worry if you can't access it—the place also accepts major credit cards.
A long history goes into the making of the 2,477 seater Embassy Theatre, formerly known as the Emboyd Theater. Built in 1928, running cinema shows were the theatre's only bread and butter then. But a couple of decades later, the dough was missing, and a temporary shut–down followed. In the nineties, the Embassy regained its lost glory, complete with shiny Spanish renaissance style interiors. Now movies are a no-no - instead traveling broadway acts and renowned plays have taken over. In short, it's showtime folks!
Built very close to Fort Wayne to house the Allen County Fair, the Allen County Fairgrounds are now able to host a wide variety of events. There is room for camping, banquets, receptions, conferences, equestrian shows and the old-fashioned county fair here.
