»Beasley Park

Located between Fort Walton Beach and Destin, Beasley Park boasts a white sand beach that are perfect for an afternoon outing. Two covered pavilions with benches are great for picnics and the park also has bathroom facilities. Part of a dune restoration project that began in 1991, be sure to check out the educational display that illustrates how the park looked before the restoration and identifies some of the plant life in the area.

Clement Taylor Park is 3.55 acres of outdoor fun. The park includes a pier, playground and a wonderful beach with a swimming area. The park's pavilion is also available for rental for private events. A great place for a family outing, kids will love building sandcastles on the beach and playing in the shallow ocean waters.

A prominent and active laboratory is swanked by Florida in the form of the McKinley Climatic Laboratory. The distinguished laboratory is also an eminent historic site in Florida. It is accurately located in Building 440 on Eglin Air Force Base. It was built in 1944 by the U.S. Army Air Corps of Engineers. The significant site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The architecture style follows the Late 19th and Early 20th Century Movement pattern. Although the site is not accessible to the public under normal circumstances, group tours can be organized for high school and older age groups.

»Eglin Field Historic District

Celebrated Eglin Field Historic District is a U.S. Historic District situated near Fort Walton Beach in Florida. It has made prime contributions to the defense of the United States in the tactical strategics and missile research. The unique district is based on the Eglin Air Force base. It constitutes as many as 20 historic buildings. It occupies a massive 160 acres (0.65 square kilometers) of land area. The district occupies great monumental value and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1998.
